As a floating tutor, do I have to come every class?

Floating tutors should come to the class every week, unless an excused reason is provided to the Session Lead.

The role filled by floating tutors is critical in ensuring all students receive the assistance they need and that the needs of the class are met. Having the floating tutors present to do this every week is integral to maintaining the high quality of the OneInMath program.

The primary responsibility of the floating tutor is to identify and work with students that are idle or struggling while their assigned tutor is busy. The floating tutor’s intervention to step in and assist the student in these cases is what ensures all students get the individualized assistance they need.

The secondary responsibilities of a floating tutor are critical to keeping the class running smoothly each week. They will occasionally be needed to fill in an absent tutor, mark student absences in the tracker, organize the room, print missing packets or help sheets, and communicate with parents or librarians.
