Start A New Chapter
Make a difference to your community!
Be a catalyst in your local community and have a long term impact on young kids so they can have a more confident future… while developing advanced leadership skills!
Develop Advanced Leadership Skills!
Take your leadership skills practice to the next level! Starting a new chapter can be experientially very rewarding. You will learn how to present OneInMath program to a librarian and successfully convince them, what it takes to recruit a team, execute a project and sustain it for long term. You will develop valuable leadership, negotiation and management skills in a fun environment, and have the satisfaction of helping kids learn math.
Research shows that intervention at a young age to build a strong foundation in Math has a significant impact in the later years! We are always looking for enthusiastic people and communities to help spread the love for math in young students.
Students & Adults
If you are a motivated high school student (sometimes 8th grade students have surprised us too), or an adult who is passionate to serve your community, this opportunity is for you. We will train you on how to approach the library, establish the program, and run it successfully!
Librarians
If you are a librarian, we will provide extensive help and work with you to recruit a Session Manager and Session Lead. We will train them to run the program, how to recruit volunteers and students and much more.
Note for Students
If you are a student, you must have active participation from your parent/guardian to start the OneInMath program at your local library.
Partnership
Running a OneInMath program is a partnership between OneInMath, Volunteers and Local Libraries.

Session Leader Testimonials
See what our session leader have to say about their experience starting OneInMath programs at their local libraries.
Today was both the last class of this session and my last session leading OneInMath. Thank you guys so much for helping me expand this program to PA and bring it to the kids and high school students in our area. I won’t lie, although I love kids and math, I originally started this program because I thought it would look good for college applications. Now looking back, I am so glad I cared about giving my college apps a boost because without OneInMath, I wouldn’t have made lifelong memories and built meaningful relationships with you guys, the librarians, the tutors, the students, and the parents.
I appreciate the guidance on how to be a good session lead and the advice you guys gave when I didn’t know how to handle a situation. Because of OIM, I’ve grown as a person as well as a leader. As I led more and more sessions, the nervousness I had before going to the library went away completely and I started working better under pressure. At school, I found myself running for officer positions of clubs which I wouldn’t have had the courage to do before. My favorite part of being session lead was being able to see the students grow, not only in their math skills but their personalities as well. This is definitely what I will miss the most.
All in all, OIM has played a huge role in helping me grow as a person and I’m grateful I got the opportunity to give back to my community. I mean this with my heart.
Priyal P., Session Lead, Fall 2023 – Fall 2024
My time as a tutor for OneInMath has been more rewarding than I ever imagined. I’ve been able to help kids master various math concepts, and in the process, I significantly boosted my own skillset. Working with students of different ages and learning styles assisted me in honing my communication skills.
OneInMath also provided a fantastic opportunity to develop my leadership skills. I learned to create a positive and encouraging environment where students felt comfortable asking questions and taking risks. I am also more adept at thinking on the spot and differentiating instruction. My time as a lead has given me more confidence in my own abilities and allows me to share ideas with tutors to help their own students.
Most importantly, tutoring for OneInMath is simply fun! It was an experience that not only helped students grow in their math abilities but also enriched my understanding of the power of mentorship.

The education we are able to generously provide to these up and coming students helps them get ready for their mathematics classes in school and in life overall, whether we help struggling students or help above average students advance to higher levels of achievement.
Jaswin R., Session Lead, Fall 2023 – Present
Volunteering with OneInMath provided me with invaluable skills in communication, organization, and teamwork, all while sharing the joy of math with younger students and making a meaningful impact on their educational journey.
